How we work

BankMarket comparison methodology

We compare product structures and consumer decision points, not approval promises.

Information hierarchy

  1. Official regulators and central banks.
  2. Applicable consumer guidance and public registers.
  3. Loan and card terms shown at the final application stage.
  4. Calculation examples based on clearly stated assumptions.

What we compare

  • Total amount repayable and payment schedule.
  • Interest format, fees and mandatory services.
  • Term, early repayment and late-payment consequences.
  • Eligibility documents and application process.
  • Consumer-protection and complaint channels.

Updates and corrections

Priority financial pages display a review date and official sources. We revise a page when a regulator changes guidance, when a material error is reported or when the product structure in a market changes. Corrections that affect the reader’s decision are made as soon as they are verified.

Calculator limitations

Calculator outputs are illustrative. They do not include every possible commission, insurance product, individual rate, schedule change or late-payment consequence. The financial institution’s final disclosure and contract take precedence.
